Drift fishing
October 6 was spent drift fishing over shallow reefs south of Middle Island. The catching was excellent by casting 1/4 oz Erie Shiner weight forward spinners in 6 ft of water. All walleyes were in the 24-26 inch class. The drifts were slow but the strikes were hard! Even working the Erie Shiner in the rocks, where the walleyes were located, not a Shiner was lost because its hook rides up.
