Went out of camp perry tues. Ice was good very little water or slush despite warmer temps. Fished 10 spots from 3 miles out to 8 miles out. Saw as much as 24" of clear ice but did find one spot with only 8" of white ice. Fished sunrise to sunset with only 7 fish for 3 of us. Caught 5 early and 2 late. Marked only a few all day. Everyone was moving around and didnt hear of anyone doing any good.
Well hoping that will change maybe need to try a bit closer to shore or more to the west Metz? Maybe if anyone have some good tip it would be greatly appreciated. Okey for machines still (ATV/sleds) it will make moving around much easier to find them I'm hoping for the best as this ice fishing season comes to a close
No reason to run out anymore. More eyes in dirty water than in clean. try 17-20 ft in front of Magee or Metzgers. Dont recommend crossing 3 mile shove anymore. Good Luck & Good Fishing.
P.S. Try 1/8-1/4 oz gold cleos/spoons
Fished out of camp perry Tuesday also. Ice was good. Cracks where just staring to open. Fishing was tough till we went to e can and got our 2 man limit in a hour and a half. Took all day to find them. Friend pulled his shanty off yesterday said ice was good, but that can change quickly especially with a southwest blowing 40 today and highs in the upper 40's.
with ice all the way across the Western Basin still , where will it move to is the question ??
Dale
Well with this wind I think the Canadian side is do.lol
wester basin looks solid all the way to Canada the further east you go the more open water there is so more places for it to move, here is a satellite image. you can see the western part has no where to go.
