Walnut 8/28
Walnut parking lot was packed at 7:30am when I arrived. On my way out to the 2nd trench I passed all those boats at about 5.5 miles out. Must have been 100 boats, looked like a small city. Radio said Perch were slow but they were picking at them. I talked with two guys back at the marina (3pm) said they got their 2 man limit.
I set up on the transition right before the 2nd trench (42`11 and 80`20). Marks were scattered, but this was the best marks of the day. Fished all day in this area and only picked up 2 eaters. Both came off the down riggers, 150' back and 53' down - willow blade harnesses, pink and sliver. Dipsy's pulled a few bass and one steelie that threw the hook before I could get him in. Steelhead hit a silver and raspberry spoon.
Tough fishin this year but still better then best day at work. Beautiful lake thought yesterday. 1 foot or less.

Thanks. I came in and fished Friday and Saturday as well. Gorgeous weather, flat lake and could not find a walleye. 2 man limit on perch today just West of Walnut in 62 FOW. A few feeding frenzies followed by nothing. Trolled in all directions but not a walleye. Caught 2 steelhead just east of the 1st trench in 77 FOW.
I hope to get one more trip in before I need to take boat home

Saturday went out at 11 a.m. with buddy and his kid to get him a citation and managed 7 eyes.
All fish were caught from 80 fow to 110 fow.
