Not all heros wear capes. What do you think the lake looks like tomorrow?
I think it's not gonna start settling out until the end of this week, but that's a swag. I'd go east of Lorain if you can trailer your boat. That's my plan for mid-week.
Well I have some friends in town and I can't go all the way to Lorain but I'm going to try my luck going out of Fenwick and heading NE until I find decent water. I just hope it isn't too choppy. I think I can find some decent ENE of west sister. Honestly just a novice trying to show my friends a good time!
YellowBird;
Post back here if you find some clean water please. I am going out Monday morning to give it a go.
Rex i most certainly will. I'm a new member of this site but if followed it for a while. Now that I am on here I will be active and honest. Just know I am 33 years old with a 17ft 1972 Hewes Tarpon that has a stubborn 1973 135 hp Evinrude Starflight. I'm far less knowledgeable than a lake erie charter captain but I'm learning as much as I can and will be an honest contributor every time I post.

Talked to a group just coming off the lake at 7pm. They said they found pretty good looking water NW of RSI. They boated 1, lost 1.
Hi Y B,
In a 17' boat? Taking out some friends? Not a lot of experience on Lake Erie? Please, if I may ask...Have you taken any type of Coast Guard Safe Boating lessons? If not, may I suggest you do that first, then use your boat armed with knowledge of her capabilities.
Good luck...Have fun!
A person 33 years old today would have been born in 1989. Persons born after 1981 are required to pass a boaters safety course to legally operate a boat in Ohio.
I have a 17.5' boat and fish lake Erie often and have taken lots of friends. Obviously not all at one time but 1 otr 2 at a time.
