Am reading a lot of posts about lead core. I see more that a few talking about using 5 color in 40
feet of water or less. Are they dragging the bottom? I thought that each color was equal to approximately 10 feet of depth?
What gives?
Thanks
Frank

Leadcore rule of thumb is 5ft per color
But I am using some new thinner stuff that I believe gets me 7 or 8 ft per color
Lots of other variables tho
27 lb test at 2mph is roughly 6 ft per color. any other lead core questions just ask away or PM me.
I caught one yesterday on a three color in about 48 ft of water on a worm harness.
Why does lead core seem to consistently outfish presentations on downriggers?
lead core will out fish everything else if it is fished right. if not set up right it will not catch as many as a properly rigged rod.
what about the new 18 lb lead core that sinks 30 percent faster ? whats that sink rate ??
The suffix? I believe they claim 7 ft per color
