seat pedestal question

What is a better base for a pedestal. Any thoughts? Pin base or wedge base?

I am adding 2 pedestals to my StarCraft sfm 180...1987. I need to know what base/pedestal is better to go with...pin or wedge base?

I have had trouble with the pin style getting stuck and hard to pull out.

I second PDNaz's opinion. Dad's boat (aka: "The little boat") came with two of the pin style. I have a buddy that has a lake boat with them as well. I have cussed at seats in both of their boats! :mad:
