Going to do some night walleye fishing anybody got any tips or advice want to do some trolling
New at the night fishing
Bout all I know is that the walleye seem to not feed for about the first hour of darkness while their eyes adjust . I'm interested in learning more also
Done it many years ago when I had friends with a place on Middle Bass , but not for a long time. We'd wait until 10:00 or 11:00 and cast cranks on shallow humps or on wind blown shores. If the fish were in you'd know in 30 minutes. If they were it was great and bigger fish. Never trolled at night.
What I'm wondering is should I concentrate on the first 10 ft or should I go deeper I'm figuring the fish will be towards the top of the water column feeding
when we done it we were fishing 10 and shallower, up to 3-4, but trolling open water you'd want to be deeper is my guess. Your electronics should tell you. Surely someone on here is still doing it
I know capt Sam porkchop trolls at dark in the fall.He might add his wisdom here or go on a night charter with him this fall.
