Re: East of Kellys 6/29/22
Nice work....I just posted I did not do well (same time and area)...I was targeting 35ft +...maybe not deep enough. Used all dipsy, spoons and harnesses. Was a long run from East Harbor.
I trolled thru the N part of the dump and 2 miles east. One of the Tibbles charter in the area. Your report gives me confidence I need to keep plugging!!

All on spoons: wonder bread, perch and blue/chrome. #1 Dipseys-0 setting 70-80. 3 setting 85-90. 40 jet diver straight lined at 136 back. Speed 2.5 mph. Worms on some of spoons but not sure it mattered.
Special shout out to Fishing Tiger for posting his reports and the info on the deep bite. Also thanks to ITSBOB and Captains Juls and Sam for sharing as much info as they do. We had fish all over the graph today but targeted the deep bite from the beginning based on those individual's reporting. Thank you. Also note there are a line of commercial nets east of the island. Not something you want to troll thru. Half the fish 16-17 inch. Rest 19-20 with biggest at 23 inches

Re: East of Kellys 6/29/22
How were the midges out there? I fished along the line from Middle to East of Kelly's last Friday and they were terrible. Had a buddy on the boat and we called it after 3 hours it was so bad. Taking the misses out this weekend and she would last 5 minutes in those bugs....
Re: East of Kellys 6/29/22
Only a few biting flies. Bug spray kept those away.
Re: East of Kellys 6/29/22
We had bad midges Tuesday afternoon.. If there is wind they should be OK. If it is still, there are pockets of the all over West of Huron.
Re: East of Kellys 6/29/22
Black flies and mayflies have reached Lorain now too.
Re: East of Kellys 6/29/22
Headed east of kellies today with my brother for our first trip of the year. Saw pack of boats north, so we stayed south of them in about 42 ft of water. Sounded like spoons have been productive, but we couldn’t keep the little ones off our lines, so we switched to #11 flicker minnows with 2 oz weight at 50/120 and started landing keepers. Ended day with nice cooler of fish.

Forgot to mention colors used were blue and perch pattern.
