struck out casting
Got on the water at 6am with high hopes July 4th.Ran over between Green and Niagara and started casting. We spent 4 hours hitting different spots all around this area and all we had to show for our effort was a couple of nice yellow perch.I was marking fish both on the bottom and at 15 ft. but they were not liking anything we were throwing at them.Time for plan B which meant putting the casting rods away and dunking some perch minnows. We finished up with 50 perch. We caught a few jumbos and I had a double jumbo which was kinda cool.Time to move east.Ashtabula here I come. !!!

Cold front
I would bet that cold front had a lot to do with the eyes not biting. I think when the high pressure moves back in we will be catching fish.

Yeah, I hear ya. I casted my ass off with high hopes this mornin up near brest bay and got skunked myself. Lots of sheep so at least got to bend the rod.

Same thing we did on Friday. Four of us casted our butt's off and I moved at least 7 times and skunked on the walleye. I actaully caught 2 really nice smallmouth on a worm harness, even the sheephead were few and far between. Aggravates the hell out of me when I burn 60+ gallons of fuel for NOTHING!
