Usually for me it's towards the end of may unless we get some booming temperatures out of a sudden
53 / 54 deg F is usually the breakpoint to go to spoons, but some of us have started to experiment with spoons already. I pulled 2 fish on spoons last Sunday ( a week ago), and have heard of a few others taking some fish on spoons just this last Saturday and Sunday. Highest water temp I've seen around the islands is 51. Hopefully we'll see a warmup in temps here soon and we can make the switch. I'm soooo ready for Tru-Trip season!
I can assure you I'll have a teaser out this weekend!
Talked with ppl that got 3 nice ones 2 weeks ago by a can on spoons. Not sure what water Temps were. But I know they were pulling them behind dipsys
Thanks All Coming up fishing Fri. & Sat. Going to troll both big & reg. Scorpion's. Here's hoping good weather for everyone. Will post results
What speed do you generally like for spoons?
Depends....this time of year I'll start out with 2.0 to 2.5. As water warms up I'll keep going faster and faster.
