MODIS Images 31 May - 03 June
A guy in my fishing circle sends these to me. He won't say where he got them. Apparently he has a grudge against people on here who only take info and never post anything in return. I've received a ton of private messages asking what website. Sorry, he will not say. Some friend, huh? But I'll share them as long as the NOAA site is down.

What website is that from. Do they update daily. That image was 3 days ago.

Here is link to this afternoon's zoom earth satellite view. Still a lot of stained water... I think some of that is coming from flow out of the Maumee, River Raisin, and the creeks. Friday they and the Portage were running high and muddy.

From the NOAA web site:
"Note to Users: Our NOAA Great Lakes CoastWatch node server is down and the data and satellite imagery on the website are currently not updating. Our current estimate is that it will be restored by noon June 8, 2021."

I've been checking on that every day since may 26th in case it got up sooner. Can't wait to see an image. It was down at the worse time after the blow. Hope condition are back to normal.

Try Zoom.Earth. It has a good picture. Right now it is cloudy over most the lake.

Re: MODIS Images 31 May - 03 June
FYI- MODIS is back up, and all the images from days lost have also been posted....
So the satellite/camera wasn't down, just something with the website and not uploading those images.
Re: MODIS Images 31 May - 03 June
All,
I'll help with the substitute for Modis.
Go Here on a PC or tablet United States | Zoom Earth
Zoom in. There are several options in the drop down menus. You can even look back a few days to see how things have progressed.
Image looks as good to me as Modis.
Good Luck!
