Wildwood 8/8/20 evening drift (perch in?)
Went out Saturday evening 8/8/20 with an old friend to try some night drifting. On the water by 715p. Lake was Flat. Went to 45’ north of Euclid hospital. Rigged Erie dearies tipped with crawlers. Marked blobs on the Finder near bottom. Looked like schools of perch and kept getting stripped, No perch gear on board but I’m near positive that they were there. Moved to 50 feet, same marks on finder but managed to lose 1 and box 1 walleye around 22 inches. Tried some casting with a diving lure, to no avail. Moved in to 35’ around 11pm. Fish finder started going Nuts, marks everywhere!! Ended up being monster schools of shiners!! Sooo,, with all the marks at 45 and the baitfish, maybe the perch are in. Let’s hope! No other hits but but overall a good time with my retired pal. Going out again this week on a day trip to try to get some of those elusive perch. Hope this helps everyone seeing that these Cleveland reports are few and far between. Good luck to all!
