Lake Conditions April 04
Drove lakeshore Friday on trip to Toledo from Columbus. The only visible ice was the ice pile on the west side rocks at the entrance to the Portage River (some of that ice looked two feet thick). That pile will be around for at least another week.
Open from Marblehead to Port Clinton. Low fog make it look like ice around South Bass, neat to see. I’m sure there are still some ice flows in the Western Basin but we’ll need a clear satellite to see how much and where, but probably not much. High winds forecast will probably prevent any fishing Saturday but Sunday looks good. Fields and streams from Columbus to Toledo were all severely flooded from rain so the river fishing is off until at least late next week. Whenever weather conditions are good the Lake fishing is on, but as usual be early spring fishing careful and alert.

Thanks for the report. I saw the same thing yesterday. Tomorrow is the first trip out for me. Looking forward to it. :)
