FYI Water Clarity Lake Erie currents Satellite Video / photo show
Forgot about this example of how the currents move in Lake Erie. In April 2016 we had a vary unusual period of clear days, 5 in a row plus a few partly cloudy days. This was right after a big wind and rain event, so there was a lot of muddy and stained water in the Basin. We got 5 days in a row of clear satellite photos. The photo show link below shows how the currents moved around over those 5 days. You can play the pictures fast or slow, depending on how fast you click the "next" or "previous" button.

This will give you a visual "video" of how far an area of water can move, and also how little, on the same day, and over a few days. Great example to understand why the walleye move around the way they do this time of year, seeking out the water conditions (clarity/temperature) they prefer at the time. This also goes with other fish, including prey species. Where the prey are the walleye will soon be.
