48" Reel Retrieve vs 32" Reel Retrieve
200' Line Out
50 Turns Vs 75 Turns
Math 200' of Line x 12" = 2400"
2400" Divided by 48" = 50
2400" Divided by 32" = 75
Do you Chose 75 turns or 50 Turns to Bring In 200' of Line
It is Foolish to Make 75 Turns vs 50 Turns
I did Not Consider this when I Bought 1st Reels to fish on Lake Erie
Now I will only Buy reels with a Retrieve of 48" or More
Older You Are More This Will Matter vs the Older You Are the More This Will Matter
Re: 48" Reel Retrieve vs 32" Reel Retrieve
Never really thought about it. I am 70 and I just reel them in no matter how far out they are. I never counted the cranks.
Only time I complain about it is when a big sheephead takes my Off Shore planner board under the water and it doesn't want to surface.:)
Re: 48" Reel Retrieve vs 32" Reel Retrieve
I have started buying the Shimano Tekota 400 model because of it's faster retrieve rate, but it's only rated for 35" per turn. What models are you seeing that have 48" per turn?

Re: 48" Reel Retrieve vs 32" Reel Retrieve
Daiwa Eliminator 8000 53"
6500 48"
5000 47"
Penn Wrath 8000 44"
Look on E-Bay Usually best prices
Re: 48" Reel Retrieve vs 32" Reel Retrieve
Ok, that makes sense now that I know you are talking about spinning reels. I only use reels with a built in line counter, but maybe it would be worthwhile considering adding a line counter to a spinning reel. I would be lost without a line counter since I troll and use the precision trolling app.

100 Feet of one color Line then 100 Feet of a 2nd color Line then a Third color Line
That is the only way I would count out 200 Feet of Line
You Can Not Beat Simplicity
Good Luck with Line Counters
