    Default Lowrance Elite 5

I just got a new Lowrance elite 5 combo gps/ fishfinder.
I want to keep my old garmin on to view from another spot on the boat. Is there any special distance I should keep the new transducer away from the old one?

What is the frequency/KHZ of the garmin? If its 200KHZ it will probably be impossible to run both units at the same time as each unit will be trying to pick-up the other units signal pings. If it is 193KHZ there is still a possibility that they will interfer with each other!

With both attached to the stern on opposite sides the garmin is working the same but the lowrance seems to be always marking fish. The garmin is a garmin fishfinder 90 and I think it's frequency is 200kHz. Does it sound like an interference problem or just an adjustment that needs to be made in the settings?

But on the plus side the Gps function works like the cats a$$

Sounds like your Garmin sonar or the transducer is not working properly, the two will interfer with each other if both are transmitting on the same frequency. It could be an adjustment also like you said.

depending on how deep the water is. the beams will cross talk. the cone angle gets wider as it goes deeper. over about 20f.o.w. and they should be cross talking. unless you can select 50 or 80 hz on one of the finders. if either has that option.
