    Default Just getting started

Hello to everyone on here. I am just getting started into walleye fishing after taking a 25 year break. My kids are getting older and busier so we have gotten rid of the pleasure boats and I have my first fishing boat. I have two riggers on it and am ready to go. I have read a lot of the posts on here but still have a ton of questions. I am posting looking for any advise anyone is willing to share. I have launched from SP and SBH. Those are the waters I am familiar with. I am not opposed to heading to Dunkirk to launch but I am unfamiliar with the water/hazards. My FF just stopped working last week so I am fishing old school until I can afford a new one. I have been out three times since the purchase of the boat. I got a 3.5 pounder near Meyers. After that nothing but silver bass. This week I can get out on Mon, Wed, Thurs and Fri. I would really like to have some better luck. Again, any help would be appreciated, and thank you for all of the info in previous threads.

Go west way west , as of now that's the best advice you'll get. Get a new fish finder with GPS .lol its just gonna be one of those yrs between the weather and how cold the spring was and water temps during the spring lest we forget the winds . What should of been a banner yr has turned into one of the worst and time is running out for it to be a good yr at all.

    Hi Captain Jim,
I think we are all in the "Getting Started" mode for this year. LOL. At least it feels like it. Did you finally get the Lowrance products line. And the other product lines that we had previously talked about. Ex. the better transducer line and how about the Navionics????

And how about answering the questions from the other post about where the Ohio fish are????
    Thanks,

Capt. Joe, if you look at the Western end of the lake forum at the "slow bite" thread you may see the ans. to your question, looks like they are having one hell of a may fly hatch (see pics) & the fish are feasting on them! Why move if the food is good & plenty of it! lol Sounds like Ohio is having a slow bite also.

Fishkiller, thank you for the offer. I think I have enough to get started and I don't have the money for the Lowrance right now. I got out today. With the wind I was not ready to head down to the west end. I trolled near the windmills and out towards Seneca Shoal. I got one four pounder and a Silver Bass.Just getting started-20150629_133255-jpg
