Summer lakers/steelhead
Hello, first of all I'd like to thank the people on this site, because I have been following it for several years and have improved my walleye tactics quite a bit, but just finally signed up as a user! But in the summer time, I really like to go out and troll for lake trout and steelhead! I usually go out of dunkirk around the 100ft mark and drop large torpedo divers to the bottom with about 75 ft of 14lb leaders and use spoons. We actually don't do too shabby, but this year I just put a couple of old hand crank riviera downriggers on my boat and got 10lbs cannonballs. Can anyone give me some pointers to help improve my catch and use the riggers. Does anyone use Dodgers and flashers with their spoons? Thanks ahead of time! Any advice would be appreciated!
