FYI. Crossbow approval!! Got this e mail this AM. Pending final approval of the 2014-15 state budget by the st, legislature. The X-bow will be a legal hunting implement, able to use in small game & big game seasons that include firearms. Also can be used in the last 14 days of the S. zone season & the last 10 days of the N. zone early bow season.
Also the archery set back is 150' for archery equip. & 250' for the X- bow. Still no X-bow use for Suffolk & Westchester co's.

So does that mean crossbows for archery season also? I guess im a little confused on your wording.:confused:

X bow used in regular firearms season like before. And also the late season in southern zone. I love the 150 ' bow limit. Man my tree hugging noisy nieghbor is gonna be pissed. Lmao.

Copo, when you say late season, are you refering to after shotgun/rifle ends or the later part of the early archery season prior to Shotgun/rifle :confused:

Late as in muzzle/ late bow season. And yes instead of 500' with bow it will be 150' from a livable dwelling. Most people don't know this but waterfowl hunting is 150' too. Just can't shoot over dwellings.

I'm reading it differently. Correct me if this is wrong, but as far I know the extended archery season doesn't consist of 14 days, unless it changed.

We will also have crossbow use in the last 14 days of the Southern Zone and the last 10 days of the Northern Zone early archery seasons.

FYI, Got a reply from Rick McDermott (NY X-bow coalition);
We get to use the X-bow the last 14 days of th S.zone & the last 10 days of the N.zone regular archery seasons.
