Hi Guys - I know this is a hunting thread but figured there'd be more chance of getting a reply going this route vs posting on the "How's fishing in Buffalo" thread plus I know you all are fishin' fanatics. I'd appreciate your opinion on depth finders. I'm thinking about a Humminbird 597ci HD DI GPS/Fishfinder Combo. Anyone have an opinion on this model, Humminbird vs Lowrance, etc..? Not looking to spend an arm and a leg but willing to go up to $500. I fish Erie for walleye and bass and occasionally Chautauqua. Thanks.

Looks like great day of fishing to me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Srry8...e_gdata_player
Well, its over, they win! I saw a total 23 deer all doe & no good shots! Worst season I ever had. :(
I ended up with 1 buck regular season, skipped muzzle i didn't like the temps thru out bow and regular season i saw well over 100 doe but first buck to show up at the party found a case of lead poisoning from my rifle. Also had turkeys around every trip out during gun season it's gonna be a great may i believe.
It is gong to be a great may but for PERCH not turkeys a$$. :D:cool:
It'll be great for both lol. I am leaning towards taking a bird with the bow just to do it. May with all luck my friend will be a good month. I'll be perching also
I skipped out of work early to hunt. Damn that snow is deep to walk through. Mostly knee deep but some thigh deep. I covered some ground this afternoon. Hopin to find some bedded deer or deer browsing the thickets. Did a big zig zag loop. Nothin. No fresh tracks. So I get back up to the house at about 5pm. Put the gun in the walk way. Get half way across the driveway to the barn and there's 5 deer walking up the tree line from across the street. Just can't win. Oh well. It was a nice walk besides the deep snow. Made some mental notes on rub lines, heavy traveled trails in snow , new places to hang stands, ect. Beat being stuck at work wrenching on sleds lol.
Who's taking me ice fishing. :)
Bailey, did fishkiller call you an a$$? :D:cool:
I think you should go to the meeting and eat some of his chicken wings. :(
I've seen him eat I'd be afraid to reach across in front of him. Lol
Go for it I got sharp teeth.:D
The Springville Field & Stream Club is urging ALL gun owners to fire a symbolic shot at 12 noon on 1/11/2014 to protest the N.Y. "Safe Act" & to show support for the 2nd. amendment. Remember to fire your shot in a LEAGAL & SAFE manner!! Pass the word & the shot will be heard across N.Y. state!
More info. can be found on this in the "N.Y. Outdoor News" paper.
Well, today was the day at noon. Did anyone shoot the shot heard across NY ? I did mine right on time, acturally I shot 2 one for some that didn't shoot any. I did hear a few other shots in th area around here. I hope "King Andy" heard them in Albany. Support our 2nd. Amend. & repeal the safe act!
Never thought of the tanerite that would have been cool! Not sure the if even the pro gun neighbors would have like that!
I was at a restaurant during the week. There was a sign. It said
Warning!
Due to the increase of the price of ammunition
There will be NO warning shots fired.
LOL
The signs of spring are showing I saw my first strutter sat morning, he was in the middle of a field puffed and looking great wish I had time to of stopped for a pic and a listen. Soon the area around my house will be invaded by returning migratory birds and water fowl. The swans to me take the cake so kewl to see huge flocks make their stop.
Shed hunting soon
i seen a big buck friday that still had horn clinton-french lee area must be easy living back there
Had 2 big toms (8" beards) & 7 hens at the bird feeder this am.
