2012 hunting reports and talk post pics when tagged

Good deal lineman glad to hear success was in your favor, for me all i'll say is i think yhese derr are using the tunnel system during the day lol. Today after sitting i got sown and still hunted my way around hoping to just bump one up .I saw some brier's moving around still with good number of leaves on them. I walked ever so quietly with wind blowing just curious as to what is moving them they were on side of slight hill about almost 4ft high i wss hoping to see a bear lol but it was a beautiful cinnamon coyote that came out not sure how i missed 40 yd shot on him other than he was hauling a$$. I let 2 shots fly to only hit dirt but watching him get the hell out of there after shots was fun. He got lucky but seeing him made it a good hunt.

Those yotes sure can run fast ,sob's. Sounds like it was a nice color. I want to get one & have the hide tanned & hang it on the wall.(man cave) I have shot 3 but I screw the hides up with the shot or when skinning them. Going for a doe tomarrow am.

Excellent idea lineman. That would look awesome on the wall. Mike you forgot to empty your mag on him. Don't you know how to hunt lol.

I knew i forgot to do something next time i'll let all the lead fly, was dunny though i know it is or was one scared yote lol. Next time i'll just load with 00 buck lol jk. Sucks work tomorrow but be out sunday my buck is bound to show i am getting the time in.

Mike I dont know what the hold up is on killing your buck I got mine right away on opening day, you make it sound so difficult.......lol:D

I will find my buck, not worried i'll tell ya the day all goes wrong and i go out is the day it'll happen lol always goes that way late season.

If you want to find your buck just come to my house. There are a bunch of them eating my shrubs and having a good old time. They must know that I don't hunt. I just put up Christmas lights and i expect to see one of the lines chewed in half one of these days. Hay maybe i should hook up the lights to 440 v.

I shot a nice size doe (140#) yesterday Am. 60-70 yd shot with the ML. My son-in law shot a nice 7 pt in the pm off the same gully on the other side ridge, all in all we had a pretty good day! Spent today skinning & cutting.

Saw a little buck sun night didn't like shot thru brush plus not very big hunted wyo co mon afternoon saw nothing but squirls, i guess does have less than a week of safety left cause all is game with muzzle next week. I am not a good vegetarian! Lol

Going out to remove my last stand this Pm & finish out the season for this yr. Ended up with a 4pt & a doe unless I get something this pm. just looking for a big guy now. May try some coyote hunts after this wk. The one area I hunt the gut piles were totally gone the next day, got to be something there.

Took last stand down & hunted til dark & saw, zero! Guess thats it for this yr.

I saw 19 does, 3 bucks. 2 bucks fought for ten minutes. Unfortunately it was dark enough that I didn't feel comfortable with a shot.

Skipped out of work early. Gonna hit the stand for the last hoorah

Didn't see anything. Sat in the stand for about ten minutes and blew back and forth so I decided to sit on the ground.

Well i could've taken a few doe this season but not my thing so not a big deal 4 more months and its turkey season and that is where its at. I don't know what you others that hunt think but turkey hunting is the best to me. I like having the interaction it brings between you and the bird.

I love spring turkey. Just hate plucking them and all the bird lice. Goose hunting is a riot too

Well cuomos push on new gun laws passed in the state senate tonight he is on a roll to be the first to infringe on 2nd amendment rights. The way it sounds after tomorrow it'll be up to federal courts to reverse it but who knows what biden has in store to give to the moron in charge of our country later this week. If your not a member of a gun club on a level that is nationwide i suggest you join one fast 2 good options are SCOPE and NRA.

Yeah this is rediculous. They keep talking about background checks. We already have background checks, we can't possess high capacity mags unless pre ban. We already have alot of restrictions on assault weapons. We're already strict with pistol laws. The hoops you have to jump through and the time it takes (Erie county) to acquire a permit is insane. Yet illegal guns are easier to obtain in tge streets. All the shootings, robberies in buffalo. An armed society is a polite society. What happened in Webster was a horrible thing. That dumb bi*#% should have never bought him firearms. But he did get his hands on a pistol through other means. But the biggest blame goes to the court system for releasing someone that killed his own grandmother with a hammer.
Sandy hook? She knew her son was unstable and yet never secured her firearms from his reach? Where was her head!!! See what you started bailey. Lol

Well one big law that will get us is the 7 round law think about how many guns come with capabilities of holding more, .22 for example. Your tube. 22 will be illegal pistol clips illigal.

This new law is total BS! They need to enforce the 20,000 laws already on the books. They need to put the nuts away & keep them there not plea bargain the charges down so they get out & do stupid sh#* all again. I blame it all on lawyers & bad judges for not keeping the nut jobs in jail! Sorry for the rant it just really ticks me off this new law only hurts us law abiding citizens. I have been contacting all our state reps. for the pass few weeks I guess to no avail, so much for our 2nd. amedment rights. I am now a felon for owning a 22 that holds more than 7 rounds, just plain stupid!! I have been waiting for my pistol permit for the last 11 months, probably will never get it & really lost interest in it. they won.

ON a brighter note I did a pheasant hunt the other day & had a great time. Brought back a lot of fun memories. I haven't hunted them in 20 yrs. 3 guys we ended up with 12 birds. It does erk me that I had to pay $100 bucks for hunting birds I use to hunt out of my back door & get many more. How times do change.:rolleyes:

It was only pistols with no more than 7 rds. But wtf? 3 rds? Come on!!!! I can change clips pretty damn quick. Is 3 rds really gonna make a difference? But these laws have to go through federal. Lets cross our fingers.

Where did you pheasant hunt? I always look at where the dec releases birds. Friends have told me to use a dog and you'll do good after the idiots are gone.

Hunted at Bontragers preserve out on rt.20 east of dariane /rt.77. we use one of their dogs. We had a good time the birds flushed like wild birds, didn't have to kick them up! $25.00 a bird.

Gene is an awesome guy great hunts. The cabin out back is beautiful. I used to get eggs to hatch from him yrs ago.

Was my first time there Gene & his wife seem like nice down to earth people. I plan on going back sometime my son in- law has never hunted pheasant & I know he would get a kick out of it.

Is it 25 a bird total cost? Or do you pay extra for their dog and guide?

Pay for dog ($15-25 I think) & you don't need a guide if you don't want one. They tell you the area where they put the birds.

Interesting! The dog listens to you? I figured the dog and handler went hand n hand. My old dog wouldn't listen to anyone but me when hunting.
