Fished out of sturgeon point today, started around 10am. The dock is still in, and so is the sand bar, my depth finder registered 1.0 feet at one brief point. Went out just fine, but got delayed some coming back in, actually the kicker seemed to work better with the higher prop.

20 keepers, some throwbacks but not enough to move, 90% from "the hole" 54 feet deep to the west. Tried a few spots before that not much biting and boats moving. We didn't slay them but I think we caught many more than the boats that gathered around us. One guy pulled up about 20 yds away and still didn't catch many. Great day on the water like glass no heavy coat needed.

Friend I was fishing with actually caught a smelt, lots of baitfish schools showing up on fish finder. I caught one white perch rest all perch.

Reminds me of a funny story. My buddy's were all over at my place and the wives were riding around the property. Well my bud tells the girls jokingly hey. Remember when in doubt. Throttle it out. Well needless to say ten minutes later she comes in the shop covered in snow saying we need to come look at the sled. Then she adds. I did just what you said Hun. I got in trouble and just put it right to the bar. She ended up clearing the big Ditch she didn't see that separated the front field from the lower back one. Lol.

Yes minnow size was great, plus we were able to keep them alive for the most part by changing water now and then, forgot aerator.

    Cool

Bailey....I just looked at the web cam @ SP and it did not show much ice at all. I think your right, a couple weeks and we should be able to start searching for them tasty little critters. As long as we can get out of the marina.

Well I'm wondering how that sand bar is doing, because when I went out last year the week before thanksgiving and thanksgiving week it was really getting shallow. Hopefully the lake level has gone up some with our winter precipitation. I haven't launched yet out of catt will probably try that this year early on.
