Im hopin to get out tonight for a couple hrs. My coil went bad over the weekend and left me dead in the water both nights. I'm sure a couple of you saw me drifting away from the pack. But a new coil and upgrade to solid state ignition should do the trick. (now if the fed ex guy would hurry up and get here). I'll post my outcome in the morning if I get out tonight.
Well planning on heading out tomorrow night what are your thoughts on the sw wind they are calling for i wanna head out front of windmills.
Bailey - they are calling for 5-15 knots. that won't be bad off the windmills. the waves won't get a chance to build at Woodlawn and the windmills. Are you coming by way of Ridge Road in Lackawanna? I'll be at the ballfield just before the bridge. Copo did you get your delivery? It really bumbs me out when everything isn't working correctly. Good luck!
Usually come over skyway and on to furhman. You are gonna be west of that? If early enough could swing out that way. Coild be good night for drifting if everyone plays nice lol. Joe you got my text with answer the other day right.

Oh yeah- I'll be a little south and east of the small boat harbor about 1 - 1 1/2 miles.
Joe got the boat all back together. With the new electronic ignition and high volt coil I gain just over 2mph on the top end. Tried to get out last night around 930. I turned around when I got outside the south gap. Those were some big rollers. So I just played around behind the breakwall. Anybody do any good last night? Saw one trailer in the lot at sbh.
Copo - glad to hear your up and running. Do you launch from the Small Boat Harbor all the time? Or do you have s slip? I know it all too well when to take the turn at the South Gap and find the rollers coming in. Sometimes they are a surprise. There might mot be much wind but they are there. I am dry docked at Sturgeon Pt. - usually
Right now it's blowing 12 - 17 knots with waves @1.3 ft. Last night @ 7:00 pm the waves were 2.6 ft.
I feel a drift if mellows a little heading out around 6 or so. Be on water after 7 i hope.
Hopin to get out this evening myself. Joe I just launch at sbh. Yeah they weren't pretty last night those rollers. No moon, pitch dark and all of a sudden your stomach drops. We went over by the battleships last night. And marked a ton of fish. Had to misses on jigs so not sure what's there at this time of yr. anyone have any ideas on what's there now? I know eyes spawn up buffalo river. Have picked them up on harnesses before at the mouth drifting.
Captian Joe , when you say you dry dock at Sturg. Pt. do you mean in the upper parking lot? If so do you mine me asking how much that is or might be for a 22' boat? Also is there a waiting list for that ? Thank you for any info.
Bailey fyi the wind is blowing here now. The Buffalo harbor says 11-12 knots but it seems stronger now. The weather buoy says waves 2.3 ft with stronger winds.
Lineman - yes i'm up in the upper parking lot. For a 22name FT boat $374.00 per season. I do notthis know if there is a waiting list.

All i can say is no fish worth dying for.
Those were NOT 2-4s more like 6-8 crested. Scary. We looked like a buch of salmon trying to traverse a waterfall. But it did die down later on the night. I was the only boat for a while. Put 2 in trolling. Then decided to jig and boated 4 more and lost/ missed at least another 6-8 fish. Tip with half a crawler. 1/4oz jig.

I made it as far as in front of first windmill and turned back last night, coming in 3 otherd went out 2 turned back also. Copo that must've been you in black boat in which i got a good view of whole hull going out LOL 3 of you in boat. It was a little much for me to do after dark.

No- did not win. Lost to the team that we beat in the finals last year. As far as a rubber arm - I willsay this. I'm sore and my arm, back, neck and legs feel like rubber. We'll get them next time. It was the typical case of a team winning it last year and thinking that they will win again just by walking on the field.
Bailey thAt was not me in the Lund. Those guys turned around also. I have the white n blue crestliner with the blue hitop. We trolled in the mouth of the black rock. Marked a ton of fish holding the drop off but no takers. Went to dugs dive n had some food and a couple beers. It was tolerable by 1. If you see me or my truck (big lifted ford diesel) on the water or at dock feel free to say hi. Headin back out tonight. I'm not trolling though. Gonna jig. I hooked more fish jigging in an hour than 4 hrs worth of trolling. I have the entire hump plotted out so I'm drifting across the top at 5-7fow to 12-14fow. Must have worms. I even tip my stick baits with half a worm. Some of the fish I caught still had milt coming out.
I saw the ford copo i have red expedition with grey starcraft i think ill sit this one out tonight blowin good in swamps lake has to be rockin.
Eh, it's supposed to lay down by this evening.

Sounds good. Bring a rain coat. apologies To anyone trolling tonight if I'm in your way but I'm only drift jigging tonight. Had way more response from it than the hrs of trolling I did last night. If anyone else wants in on the action just follow my lead.
went to the departure bouy last nite drifting in 12-17fow box 2 lost 2 mark alot of fish and bait what a nice night fished to 2:30
Copo how did you do last night? I see it was real calm wind wise around mid.
We boxed 3 and lost about 10. My buddy had 6 by 10:30 then we drifted apart so not sure what he ended up with. He was using a 1/4oz white jig head with a whole crawler on it. Just kinda bouncing it off the bottom. 12-16 fow. We switched to the same thing but had alot of short strikes, so I added stinger hooks to the tail of the worm and it paid off. The fish seemed to turn off after 12. It did calm right down. We drifted right over the top of the hump and you could see the glowing eyes of the wallys swimming around. They just wouldn't bite. We tried casting x raps, dropping the jig n worm within 2 ft of them then even made a few trolling passes. They just weren't interested. It was cool to see them though. Man I saw a couple big fish in the 10lb range too.
Hey did anyone see all the Chinese lantern things they released by hoaks? Looked like a bunch of ufos.

I fished in front of the windmills on Tuesday night, from ~9 - midnight. There were quite a few boats out, but nobody was catching much of anything. I was skunked....

Picked up 6 last night in front of the windmills in 30fow first was at 9:30 and I stopped at 11:30. Two guys four poles.:):)
