Hi everyone,

I went fishing this past saturday with my family out of the small boat harbor, we did well, had steady action fishing outside the breakwalls for smallmouth. Surprising to me a lot of small bass, less than 12 inches. Of course lots of gobies on the worms, but young kids could care less what kind of fish they were catching!

Anyway, I had a talk with the DEC guy who was there polling fisherman at the end, and he mentioned that from what they are seeing, as far as netting fish etc to determine fish populations, was that the 2010 year was an outstanding hatch year for both perch and walleyes, they are seeing tons of 1 year old fish this year! From what I can see in 01 the average length of a 2 year old fish was 14", so technically we should see results as early as next year...Hopefully the info I got was accurate...
