Adman - I'm new to leadcore myself. I just purchased a 5 color leadcore set up from Fishkiller. I understand that that will get me down 30'. You can get down further by adding weight. You can add weight in the leader or on the backer line if you want. Adding to the backer line is preferred. You can fish it flat lining, off big boards and in line boards. I'm sure more will comment and I will like to see what they say also.

Typically fish Buffalo to Sturgeon Point (2 times/week) and occasionally run down to Sunset Bay or Dunkirk (2-3 times a season). What # of colors? Rods & Reels? Can it be run off inline boards? Please enlighten me .
I'm running 10 color flatline I bought from fishkiller last year. Never touched my dipsys after. I'm gonna need to set up 5 and 7 color soon to run off my big boards. You don't wanna clip to the leadcore itself, But to the backer. Each color should net 5ft of depth. As 5 color would be 25. 7 would be 35 , 10=50'. Most of our fishing from buff to sp is 5-7 color.

At our speeds (2.0) we are seeing 6 foot of depth per color with our Woodstock line (27lb Test)

I'm out by the shore of Lake Erie in Angola. I see open water on the horizon. Last night the snow was coming from the east. The wind pushed the ice back to Ohio.

I can't wait to dodge canoes and in lines on the opener off Hamburg. Maybe throw in a few icebergs at 1.0mph the aluminum hull can take it.

Possibly thinking about having the bow reinforced incase I have to break some channels so we all can enjoy the shallow hunt. Team Player.
