This is a test post.
Yes joe! I passed! I was gonna delete it after I saw it worked. I've been having trouble since they switched over to the new mobile format.
fished out of the Catt today from 5 am to 11 am. Went to Center road in 55 to 60 fow. By myself so I ran a dipsey about 5 feet off bottom and a 30 jet, both with harnesses. Was really slow. Finally picked up a 4 lb fish on purple black harness 1.7 mph (Bailey will be glad to know it wasn't on a plastic worm!:). Didn't mark nearly the fish that I did in the same area a week ago. Figuring it out is half the fun... or so they tell me!? Good luck to you guys in the Tourney. Oh, and for those of you who helped me with the boat buffing issue, thanks for your help it turned out great.
went out of SBH yesterday 6/7, and found the battery to be dead, would not even hold a charge. So off to walmart to get a new battery just to get on the lake. Weather was great, right up until the wind picked up and we went right into 2- 3 footers within minutes. The good thing was we boated 2 walleye. looked in the back of the boat and say some water, opened the battery compartment to find it full of water as well as the battery compartment up front. We were taking on water, not knowing where it was coming from. After checking a few things out and watching the lead core bounce with a fish on it. We started the bilage pump and removed some water with a can. Come to find a plug in the side wall of the front live well was missing. Plugged it up, emptied the water, bag in business. Grabbed the leadcore with the fish still on it for our 3rd walleye, got a silver bass, a smallmouth on the 40 ft. downrigger and our 4th walleye soon after. Most caught on the leadcore with 1 on a dipsey. Purple, black markings and pink back was the ticket for us.
Slapshot (Tony)
did see a better catch ratio for the amount of boats out today at the fish cleaning station . wind was better than it seemed .
Any perch reports from SP or the Catt? Thinking about making a trip (from Rochester) on Sunday?
Wow, what a day. Started at 6 am out of hamburg, fished the mills/ seneca shoals for 2 hours, not 1 fish. Wind died off so I made the trip just west sp where a few other boats were, fished 56-70' not 1 fish. Good marks at some spots at 65'. Moved again to about the condos 50-60' not 1 fish!!!!!! Worst day of fishing ever on erie for me. Any suggestions on what I may have been doing wrong? Location? We had the water column covers from bottom to top with sticks and harnesses?
Not sure what that means????
Attachment 3236we fished Meyers fri evening
Yup but no good day bite yet .
go west fishing was on fire this morning
Had guys down west today they pounded lakers , it's still a couple weeks off fish are still in the transition. The wind and cold water are just slowing it up . The fish are there just not in any sort of pattern yet. I won't say you will not catch fish but the odds are stacked against you still for most. Some of the best fishermen on the lake have had their arses handed to them out there.
this was the first hour of fishing this morning Attachment 3237
all I have to say is everybody saying there no fish around and that conditions are bad the water to cold fish are there I have no problem finding and catching you have to do a little homework yellowpike1 PM ME if you want I been fishin lake erie walleye for forty years after a while year after year the fish are in the same place every year they start in one spot move to aonther the as the water warms then they move agin
Yellowpike1, looks like your doing well. congrats! I have talked to guys that have over 200 eyes already. I guess I need some pointers.
I'm in the same boat as you....been out 4 times...caught one goby and one small small mouth bass...no daytime walleye action on this end yet, even finding them is challenge.
On the western end of the lake they are still having a smashfest with the walleye's....we need go to Port Clinton Ohio!.....google captain Ross Robertson
nice catch yellowpike are you using stick baits or harnesess
jeff
were pickin fish up here and there...no good numbers yet...it was picking up till the lake flipped early last wk...usually around fathers day is when it starts kickin off...still seems weird covering a ton of ground out there and not marking any bait balls...
How deep were you?
Today we picked up 4 walleye before the afternoon rain. But we did get caught in it. Worm harnesses and plugs. Dark colored harnesses and gold plugs. Other than today we are getting one here one there. One in Dunkirk the other day and not seeing much of the graph west of Dunkirk. Last year we were getting many fish around Myers reef - not this year. ??? I think Bailey put the curse on the lake because he can't get out on it. Ha HA Congrats to those who are getting fish. The pics look nice.
Hit Dunkirk yesterday am before the rain, well mostly as got soaked tying boat down. Got 2 walleyes, a nice perch and a bunch of white bass. Found walleyes in 60-65ft water on harnesses and a chatterstick off the downrigger (not sure how long he was riding along, as it never tripped). Tried in shallower as that is where I heard the best intel but the found the best marks out deeper, should have stayed deeper and might have gotten more. Fish were suspended (5 color lc and downrigger set at 30 got the fish).
Happy birthday Fishkiller jim
