Good news
OK, I went out today from SBH and ran down to 18 mi creek near Meyers Reef. I trolled from 30 to 48 fow and caught 2 eyes, 23" and 20", no trophies but good eaters. I threw back a 17" which I caught on the way back toward the Intl Mkr Buoy.
But (ta da !, here's the big news), yesterday the guy at the bait shop at the SBH said someone came in with a 34" walleye that he caught off Meyers Reef in 30 fow. He did not have a scale so we do not know what it weighed. I am guessing 13-14#. Today I was talking to the guys from the Southtown Walleye Assn and he said they hit a school (with double headers) off the 1st windmill at 36 fow.
The lake was very nice today with no waves. Go get em !

I would like to thank everyone for the wealth of information on this board! I'm getting back into fishing after a 20 year hiatus, now that my son is old enough to fish. I've gone out a couple of times around the windmills, using a worm harness and starting my drift around 30 fow. Only caught sheepshead so far, but wondering if I need to fish deeper?
Walleyrick mentioned the first windmill, if that the northernmost or southernmost?
It sounds like most of the members troll for walleye, can drifting be effective or should I look into getting a trolling motor?
Hopefully I'm not posting this in the wrong thread.
Thanks,
Joe

Trolled from first windmill to buoy on Seneca then through outer Meyers and past 18 mile. Got 2 slob bass 6-7 lbs each. One I even saw on the sonar come up from 44 ft to 30 ft and hit the stickbait on the downrigger. Went back to Seneca and jigged a little. Got nothin. Then trolled through the mid gap and along the outer north wall. Got one jigging at the end of the wall almost in the channel. One halfway between donleys and the round house and one more along the north wall. Lost a few too. But they were all small 15 inches or so. Everyone else trolling all said the same thing, all small fish. Spent 10 hrs on the water and came home with nothing. Shoulda just went out of the Catt. I haven't caught small fish like that in years. Thought I was in Chautauqua for a minute. Lol.

I believe it was very slow all over the lake for most. Went out yesterday. Out of Dunkirk - no walleye. One sheephead & 1I silver bass. But boy were the flies & bugs were biting. And some were small bugs. They were in your eyes, ears, nose & mouth. You get the picture. HAPPY FATHERS DAY TO ALL.
