Hello everyone,
Not sure if this is the right place for this questions so please excuse me if it is. I'm looking to visit WNY in May for smallmouth. Any recommendations for hotels that have good access for boats/boat charging between trips and fishermen? Will be launching out of SBH.
Thanks
OK - I'll bite. Based on the number of non-resident fishermen who come to Lake Erie to fish the May bass bite I would suggest Dunkirk. This is also a good destination if Lake Erie kicks up and blows as you have the protected waters of the harbor to fish. While there may be less expensive places to stay within a couple of miles of the Dunkirk Boat Launch, the Clarion is within a 1/4 mile from the launch. There a quite a few of out of staters that do camp at Lake Erie State Park which is about 8 miles west of Dunkirk. The park has tent sites and cabins available for rent and that will also give you the option to fish out of Barcelona which is about 10 miles west of the State Park.
try the talley ho motel right off the interstate 90 hamburg exit bass tournament guys stay there a lot of room to park only 5-10min to the sbh there other hotels in the area one in Lackawanna best western about a 2 min ride to the launch
