Guest I should have gotten up & went fishing this AM., weathermen su#k !!
I hope he's wrong for the rest of the weekend. Did anyone see the article in Wednesday paper in the fish line? It said that better catches are coming off monofilament line rather then wire leaders. Do you think that's true? I like using wire harnesses. I think they hold up better. What's your thought?
I like wire harnesses for trolling I agree they last longer. I think mono harnesses are ok for drifting or very slow trolling. I don't know if I should be mad at the weatherman or myself for listening to him!
capt how did you do last night
milt
Lost 8 - 5, good game though. Had bases loaded top of 7 th, 1 out. Couple of hard hit balls that couldn't find green. Took a good shot off the bat to left hand when i was pitching. One of those bang bang plays. I got the glove on it, knocked it down & got it to first too late. It's black & blue. My pride was hurt more than the hand. I'm sure we've all been there. We go again Monday. Best of 3.
how can i buy into a charter before the season is over as the odd man to learn the ropes about down riggin, dispys placement etc.?
Pm fishkiller he'll take ya wishin fishin
Milt- it's a one game series now. We won 11 - 3.
capt -congrats on the win
Slow day yesterday ended up with 2 walleyes. We fished straight out of sturgeon on the line, it sounded like it was slow for everyone. Stop out to the fair ill be working the southtowns booth from 10-2.
Dunkirk - slow, only 3, 2 8's and a 5. 8's came off #1 Dipsey with 170 ft of 30# braid set on 3. 5 came off rigger 61 down. All on pink Renowsky minnows.
Milt- the quest continues. We didn't lose. We didn't win. We are up 9 - 8 after 5 innings & have to continue the game probably Monday. Called on darkness at the stadium. The lights are not working. I understand a transformer problem or severed line.
Woody's. It's a good series. I play for the LA Lounge.
We ended up with 6 walleyes and 6 good perch yesterday out off center rd. 70-85 ft 10 color lead was best.
Fished this AM out of SP. 65-70 fow marked all kinds of fish,a slow day not one wally, a few perch & white bass. Quit at 1:30
Out of DK landed 8 and lost an 8#, Best day offshore for me in some years. Got 3 off rigger set 65 to 70 down. 3 came off a dispey with 170 to 195 feet of 30# braid set on 3, and 3 came off a offshore board using 140 feet of monel wire with 8 oz of lead. Hot lures continue to be the renowsky minnows in pink and some of the old pirates in the photo finnish that I painted half of one side with in pink.
Went out of SP to the line. One walleye missed a few. Beautiful day out there. Came on a dipsey 110 back with fiskillers harness. #3 setting port side. Colors were white and hammered copper with some pink. Barry i left many for you tomorrow. I'll think of you when I'm working. Someone has to put into the fund. Good luck everyone. I'll have a couple of tough innings to get through tomorrow night. What an opportunity.
Hello, everyone! Got out this morning and fished the 45 fow to the North and West of the Seneca Shoals buoy, about a half mile from the fence. Boxed one 27-inch fish that weighed in at 6.5 pounds and hit around 7:20; lost another fish that sure dragged like a walleye but didn't get to see it. Otherwise there were a few fighting sheephead to finish things off. Fished with harnesses off bottom bouncers; 5 chartreuse beads with the hammered silver #4 colorado blades again got most of the action. Quit by 10:00. Beatiful day to be out! Coming back we saw over ten boats hanging around the Seneca Shoals buoy but didn't see much happening.
I saw an earlier comment about wire versus mono harnesses. I actually tie all of mine with fluorocarbon line. I have lost a couple to break-offs over the last few years but that's been all- when I first started I thought surely more fish would cut through the line but thankfully that hasn't happened. Still being a relative newbie I haven't experimented with much of anything else, and it seems like people have had good success with both. Interesting possibility, though...
Barry go west tomorrow straight out of the catt in the trench 75-80 foot. 8-10 color lead was working best.
I'll be out there tuesday.
That's the way to go. What a day. Mine went good today also---- so far. We won our 2 inning game. Now guess what. We go again at 7:45 for the finals. This old body has to get going again.

How is the Catt. for launching , must be low water right not sure if I could get out there.
Dropped the first game. Gotta gear up for the next game.
Milt we're playing a team called the B Stars.
Go Barry Go. When I grow up I grow up I want to be like you - Retired. Take advantage of every good day / weather / that we are having now. Glad to hear about your success.
Way to get them Fishon you,re doing well. Where are you finding 80-85 fow off the Catt,/center rd ? I was out there the best I can do was 73-75 fow. I even went into CA. a mile marked very few fish ,are you west of silver ck. thanks,I may get out fri.
Old & c/nlie not sure how to set up PM. Would like to receive them. Try new Pm, may have it figured out thanks
Fishon 51 - Are you running your dipsy's and leadcore at the same time? Are you running your dipsey's off boards? I'm wondering how you are running them without getting tangled? My dipsy's tend to get looped around themselves/ sometimes. ??? Can't figure out why???
Fishon, thanks for the PM info. CaptainJoe, you have to let your dipsys out Slow, that will stop them from looping around it self. If you let them out fast the dipsy sinks faster & the lure comes stright up & tangles around the main line that also prevents you from tripping them to bring it in to check or change lures. just my 2 cents. speaking from same exp. I also have trouble with leadcore tangles can't figure out why.
Guys check this boat out, its my tournament partners boat. I have fished on it many many times and will tell you that its the best boat I have ever been on in rough water. Its never been chartered, and its completely turn key. Just add rods and tackle and go. Its being replaced by a 31' Tiara so he can start chartering. You will be very pleased with it if you end up with this walleye catching machine.

Thanks jim for making me drool and want something I can't afford right now lol. Thats a hell of a boat.
Has anybody been bass fishing lately? I haven't fished bass since preseason. Gonna head out of sbh Saturday afternoon.(weather permitting) otherwise I'll head to the river. Lookin for good bass sizes. Will be drifting with live shiners and or soft shells. I just need to entertain the girls since they don't like trolling all that much. Thanks guys.
