Check out the hotty on channel 7 telethon first row blue shirts 3rd in from left. Should call and make a donation. Bet she loves to fish lol a real. "FISHKILLER" for sure
I have a pair of 30' and 40' jet divers. I want to be sure I'm using them correctly. How do you guys rig these in terms of the bait(harness or stick bait), length of leader to bait, depth of water you pull them in or any other general ways in which you use them.
Dennis
Hey dennis i run mine 100 to 150ft back off inline boards and fish them shorter leads in shallower water if they bottom out shorten leads. Google depth chart snd you'll find them online if you have smart phone find and download to it. As far as leader length i go 6 to 10 ft. I like to run a 30 diver with 10ft leader and small deep diver crank usually crank runs 3ft or so below jet and great action at slow speeds.
Bailey,
Thanks. I would like to use them with worm harnesses. Trolling them off the rear corners of my boat in rod holders. In the Seneca Shoal area the water depth is about 40' or so. I have done well with bottom bouncers and I like to hold the bottom bouncer in my hand. I wanted another system that I could just set out and place in a rod holder and have two lines in the water.
Dennis
Ok worm harness go with same leads what is comfortable for you to net fish but i would use inline boards give yourself some room i use the offshore boards and replace the rear pad with an or16 they have a center pin so line can't come out. Also by using boards you cover more water and you'll learn to read them fast or even consider dipsys . I run the magnums roughly 56' out in 35 fow on a 3 setting. With spiderwire 30# line. I will stress using a method that gives you a spread i am sure others will agree, sure our guru Fishkiller will also have good ideas. He helps many out. He's probably pulling doubles at work but he'll check in soon.
Bailey, your in lines will pull a 40' jet with a crank bait with no problem?? Are you running shallow crank baits? thanks
Yup they do no problem i even use spoons behind them i think the jets add their own action to baits especially in turns the inner lines slow a bit and i am sure jets start to raise and outers speed and dive deeper. When straight trolls are slow i zig big time and ot triggets bites. Sometimes when fish hits it will sink boards other times a board just looks lazy it'll move closer to boat and drop back so turn a little towards lazy board if it catches up probably not a fish but if it drops back further you've got a rider. In one trip you'll figure them out. I like the purple boards with metalic paint and striped but also have green and red chrome so to say. But love that purple.
You mean purple jets not boards?(last sentence) I use purple, green, blue & pink jets all in metalic, do best with the pink & purple also.
