I don't think thermocells will work if there is any kind of breeze, it will blow the cover scent away from you. jmo. but if it works let us know!

Went out of Dunkirk Sunday morning, still a little bumpy but not too bad. Headed west, started out deeper than I wanted, seemed like everytime I turned to head in there was a boat on the same line. Got a few white bass on harnesses, then hit a double header in 55 ft water. One (6 lb) was on a orange tape with copper hatchet (5 color LC) and the other (9lb) was on a black with some chartruse, orange and white dot harness off the downrigger at 52 ft. Went back through a few more times with no results. Was marking most in 45-60 ft water.
JR, its been slow for me also seems like I get one eye per trip this year. Last year we got 4-5 per trip and would get chased off by thunderstorms. I've been switching things up and trying just about every color and lure I have. Also been changing the depths. Sunday I had 2 DRs 10-20 ft apart in the water column, 4 color, 5 color, and a dipsy that I was all over on the line out. The 2 fish I got were 20 ft apart in the water column but couldn't get any more from that spot.
JR - it's the same here. Troll, troll, troll. Picked up 2 eyes yesterday. A lot of trolling for 2 eyes. We were west out of SP in 66 ft then trolled east to 53 ft. ??? All harnesses.
Same story for me as JR generally. Last Sunday and a week before had lots of marks around Seneca Shoals, and worked areas further out and in from 35 to 45 fow but nothing. Usually bottom bouncing those areas seems to produce something, but not yet this year. Lost one that felt like a walleye but who knows. It's not like I haven't been marking stuff so it's strange.
I hate to say sounds like everybody having the same luck I thought it was me lol I marked a lot yesterday high and low 45-50 Seneca shoals just the one purple harness on a 3 way
Picked up 5 out of sturgeon 64fow east sunday. 1 came on 5 color with a clear bayrat with spots. 3 came on orange and copper harness on size 1 dipsey 180 back on outside. And 1 on inside dipsey 125 back orange and copper, Blown off at 1pm
Marked a ton of fish yesterday. Very tight lipped. Anyone else have a big issue yesterday? What the hell are they? Had to wash the boat out killed 10 million of them unintentionally. Poor Father had them coming out his ears and nose.
That would be bug issue.
We fish between Meyers and Seneca Sunday evening and fish were everywhere, gorging on what we thought were unbelievably large pods of bait fish, but after hearing all the bug stories was it the part of a midge hatch?
we fish s.p to myers last friday and saturday in the rough stuff....we boxed out with 12 in 2 hrs friday and 8 on sat...46 to 49 fow...all on harnesses
Went out of SP today, fished 60-65. Tried harnesses, stick baits, riggers, dipseys, and lead core. Not one damn fish today.
Hello all first off, this is my first post.
I plan on taking my dad out saturday for an attempt at walleye, I was thinking of trying from seneca shoals to myers reef. Would I be wasting my time or are u guys getting some from there. Thanks alot.
Thank you, I'll report how we do.
We picked up 4 off Evangola on Monday and 4 off Meyers on Tuesday. Both high and low in the water column so def. don't put all your eggs in one basket. We weren't killin'em but I guess 4 is better than 0.
A rough, big chop out of WSW, bilge pump ran a lot kinda day out there today. Only saw 2 other boats all day but we managed to fill our box by 3pm. We absolutely worked for them bucking up and trolling back over our marks! West of SP, 70-75' of water.
Well I headed out of SP, got to 70 ft of water. Got 1 line down and the over heating alarm goes off. Wait a little while, get trolling again get a second line down and the alarm goes off again. Headed in after that, crushing at 20 mph the motor was fine. Tore it apart already, order a water pump kit. Hope it does the trick.
Filled the box yesterday between the Catt and SP. 70' of water. The bilge pump didn't come on all the time like Wednesday, it was a nice day. A lot of eater size and that's ok with us😎
Went out of Dunkirk today. A lot of trolling. Got 3 walleye. And a few silvers. There was not many marks on the screen. ???? Boars were all over. We were west of the stacks. From 80 to 105 ft of water. Did not see another boat land a fish. ???
Greenhead - your the man. Keep doing what your doing. It's working for you. Congradulations!
What speed has been working for trolling? I have been running from 1.8 to 2.0 with harness and not getting good results. What is a good speed with stick baits?
Depends on the bait. I can run that speed but I modify most sticks a bit. Try to adjust your speed and mix it up.
Marked a bunch this morning in 45-50 FOW around Myers/Seneca. Not one taker. My guess is full bellies from feeding at night. The sonar can help you find fish. But it does not help you find FEEDING fish. My next run will be after dark. The clouds and chop today should have made for a productive trip. What's next, saying a prayer to the walleye gods?
nite bite getting better 9 in the box last nite/ a lot more boats out last nite
Went out of Dunkirk last night from 5 pm til 9pm boxed 3 eyes and one silver. Lots of marks though just couldn't get them to take. Used both worm harnesses and sticks.
West of sturgeon today 70fow, boxed 6 lost 3, all off the bottom. No size to any, good eaters, easy to clean. Standard Erie colors worked best, copper watermelon and so on .....
Did 8 out of SP yesterday, 70 ft water. Very nice day. Bite was soft and fish we're barely hooked, some outside there mouth, full moon? Lost our share too, but nevertheless 8 beauties for the freezer:o
Also good luck to team Fishkiller in the shootout! The new vessel is a beauty!
slow go last nite 3 & dropped 1 at the boat plenty of bugs
it was a slow go last weekend also a lot off bugs
jeff
Weather looks iffy tomorrow but gonna try sturgeon early, hope tstorms stay away
I'll b heading out of sturgeon also in the a.m. good luck out there.
1 eye, 1 white bass. Both on dipsy set on 3, 180ft back. Hammered copper watermelon. East wind was a pain early on in the little boat. Saw others catching a few.
Landed 2, 1 on dipsey out 150 other came off rigger. Pretty slow morning
I went out yesterday out of SP. Only got 2 walleye, 1 sheep head, 1 silver bass.
I went out with a famous celebrity two days before and we got 6, lost one at the boat.
