is a 19 ft Carolina skiff a suitable boat for fishing walleye on lake Erie? never been there, but planning a week fishing trip for June.

I don't know anything about the boat you have but I 19' deep v is ideal for Erie. I fished Erie with an 18' Cherokee aluminum boat for yrs. it handled 2 to 3 ft waves beautifully. but in larger waves, we just slowed down and went in.
I have a 21' boat now and sometimes I miss my aluminum 18' boat.

I currently have a 2015 19.5 Carolina Skiff... Sea Skiff with a 115 Yamaha and 80lb. long shaft Terrova troll motor. We use it around Catawba. Although it works great it is limited to the island area and good weather, less than three foot waves. I can get the motor to troll just fine but the Terrova seems underpowered for the boat.
