first time out of vermilion

Two man crew from Michigan planning on fishing out of vermilion on Sunday today too but just for some scouting. We have a 18' open bow boat with a 9.9hp trolling motor, not a huge troller like most of u have. Any advice would be greatly appreciated (where to fish, what to use and how to use it). im use to trolling dipsy divers (minis) with spoons and inline sinkers with crawler harnesses or drifting harnesses with bottom bounces. willing to buy some new stuff if needed (about a 30-35 dollar budget for equipment). Thanks for helping me out. also we do not have a radio so calling u in the morning (as ive seen from time to time on this board) and finding out the report would have to be via cellphone.

What in gawds name are you doing on the water without a flipin working radio.

I think if you get caught on the water without a radio and other saftey stuff you will blow your 35.00 in a big way

Id save a little more and go on a head boat. Not discuraging someone from tring something new, but... I have a 24' and sometimes I wish it was bigger. Its went from calm, to 4''s and I wish I'd stayed home. Fishing is fun, but saftey is #1. Personal Message me. I have a radio and antenna I sell you cheap. Good luck fishing, this weekend looks somewhat flat, but as we all know that Mother Nature can change things fast.
