    Default 2011 fishing season/reports

I have not been seeing any real reports for central basin and wondering if there is still anyone on the central basin site to help with reports this year, our (central basin) season will be kicking off with in the next few weeks, as the boats come out of there long winters nap and fire up on all cylinders ready to tear off into the big lake, so let us know if your still on board, good luck this season!!!

    Keep in touch,

Was wondering if someone could give me an idea of the spring walleye fishing around the Ashtabula area. I don't see too much discussion on here about it. I travel up to Ashtabula in summer and fall and do well catching smallies, perch, white bass. Curious about coming up to walleye fish or if I should just go to Port Clinton area.

    Thanks for the help

Port Clinton would probably be your best bet with 90% of all Lake Erie Walleyes moving into the Western Basin and its tributaries to spawn.

Thanks for the info. How far out will the walleye be end of May-first of June? I have a smaller boat and cant always make a far run out into the lake.

Jason, I bought my first boat a couple years ago and just started really walleye fishing last year. I don't know a ton about it yet, but I've learned a lot in the past year and had a lot of fun catching some really nice fish. I'm hoping to get my boat in the water within the next week or so. I dock in vermilion and will try to keep an update of how I'm doing. It sounds like the walleye are still yet to make it this far east though.
