Went perchin 10/09 and it just stunk. Fish were scattered all over and lots of sheapshead, not that i mind. I went into the warm water discharge at cei to see if the smallies had made there way back in and had a ball catching big channel cats. I caught a fish on 14 straight casts, only one being a sheepy. I used a 1/4 ounce jig and orange grub for some color in the dingy water. I removed the tail and tipped with a piece of crawler, bouncing it along the rocks with the current. I caught numbers of 3-10 lbrs, 5 being over 15lbs, one of which had to be pushing 20. Just one of those days you stumble on something perfect. I always knew from past experience they were in there, but they were smashing it. On a steelie note, i saw 5 caught in the chagrin by bank fisherman at the dock and on my way out the river. Even ran into the guy who owns the state record channel cat out of ladue. Nice guy, great day.
