    Default Finally back at it

Just got my boat back running after almost 2 months. Are people still catching walleye between the dump and sandbar out of Lorain?
Have steelhead been at all consistent anywhere near Lorain?

I hear its slow out there now. No limits. I'm coming up this weekend and looking for a good starting point.

Vermillion fish cleaners are not busy at all. Just ask them.

Can't decide to go out of Hot Waters or Miller Road launch this weekend. With the increased wind forecasts, maybe it will be a no go. Either launch I think you need to go deeper, like 60 FOW or more to get the nice walleyes.

Any suggestions? Where do you plan to fish this weekend?

Probably Lorain Saturday afternoon. Probably heading N.W. corner of dump. Dredging bottom. Maybe west to sandbar.

Fished out of Hotwaters both Sat. and Sun. Sat. we fished west of the harbor in 20 FOW and got 3 keepers 17-23". Main lake was too rough to go deeper.
Sun. we ran out to 52 FOW north of the dump, got 2 keepers. Moved about 3 miles east to 54 FOW, got 8 keepers 16-26". It got rougher as the day went on. We headed in at 3:30 with 4-5' rollers and some white caps.

Heading up Friday for a few days, looks like I'll be going for largemouth and pike in the bays. Any good reports on steelhead fishing?
