    Default New Geneva Update

3 of us launched at GSP ramp at 8:00 AM yesterday and bounced thru the chop from the NE for 11 miles. Set Dipseys at 150' and 111' with Stinger spoons and downriggers with spoons down 45' to 60'. Going with the waves at 2.0 mph to 2.2 mph in 74 FOW it took 4 hours but we limited out with 18 nice eyes. Only 2 sheep. It wasn't easy but we did it.

Sure would be nice if we could have a 6-8 MPH wind from the south or southwest every day. Is that too much to ask? It's been kinda bumpy the last few weeks. Oh well, better than going to work.

I didnt make it up this yr. but last july was awesome. we went out to 55' and trolled north west to 60' with lite bite slide divers. set on 4.5 out 150' set on 3 out 120' set on 1.5 out 100' caught fish on them all with a few small throwbacks. use gale force tackle walleye spoons to get 30 fish in less than 5 hrs with only 6 rods. our best spoon was jawbreaker catching most fish. didnt run riggers as we left our 13# balls at home. we ran 2.8 to 3.0 and got to much blowback with light weights. next time if your running all spoons try speeding up to around 3 mph. I should be back next yr if i'm still able.
