    Default Geneva Update 8/24/2018

Two days this week conditions were much worse than forecast. Even with southerly winds white caps and waves got worse as we headed north not finding good marks until we got north of the 56N line. The first fish came near the 59N line and shortly thereafter the fun began. Going always with the waves we ran Dipseys back 111' and 144' on a 2 setting dragging Stinger spoons at 1.8 to 2.0 mph in 70' to 74' of water. Colors were Nascar(the best), Watermelon and Wonderbread. We just crossed the 02N line when we limited out. A bit gnarly but worth the pain.

Follow-up for today (8/27) Started same presentation as above at the 42.00N/05W going to the 42.02 and repeating pattern twice more. End result: 12 walleye and 3 steelhead, one measuring 28.5 inches limiting out before noon. I'll talk to you later. I have some fish to clean......

    Default hello

    Hey, Dr. Ed,

My buddy and I were the ones talking to you on 68 this morning. We went just north of the 42.00N line and turned around to head south back to the marina. We got our 12 but had to work for them. Jay wanted to use his downrigger and had limited success with that. I had dipsys, one @ 1, 125 ft back, the other @3 setting, 195 ft. back. My go-to spoon this year has been a Daredevil green and white. My wife actually signed it with a Sharpie and it hasn't let me down. lol I always catch fish with Blueberry muffin, too. Guess I'll need to add Nascar and Wonder Bread to my assortment of spoons.
Good talking to you today! See you next time.

My apologies for not telling you that the Fish Ohio steelhead was taken on a Dipsey pulling a Mixed Veggie Stinger spoon back 204 feet at 1.8 mph. Had the tail section off the outdoor grill for dinner last night. Gormet fair...
