    Default 6/29 Walleye report-Avon Point

We headed out from Miller Park to 35-40 FOW and headed east trolling spoons from 2-2.5 mph. All we got were junk fish. Switched over to crawler harnesses (1.7-2.0 mph) targeting the suspended feeders from 25-30 feet. It took 5 hours with some searching to get a two man ticket. They were eaters from 16-20". #5 perch blade with a chartreuse back seems to work well. The bite has slowed down but if you search and keep switching up your gear you'll find what works. Today I learned I must make more harnesses with stinger hooks for trolling off the bottom.

Looks like the next 7 days will be scorchers so stay cool out there and keep hydrated! Best of luck!

We went out of Miller Rd. on 6/30 but went out further to 52-56 ft. of water. Trolled NE with wind at our backs. Harnesses behind inline boards on one side of the boat and cranks behind inline boards on the other side. We could hardly get the boards out before picking up a fish. Probably caught 80 walleye. Some shorts, a lot of 16-17 inch fish that we threw back, one 23-24 incher and 2 slobs, including 1 over 10 lbs. Very few junk fish, 1 nice yellow perch. Baits/colors hardly seemed to matter. 1.7-2.0 mph, 135-155 ft. back with 2 oz. weights.

Hopefully this info helps someone have as much fun as we had. Good luck.
