    Default First Trip Thiss Weekend

Heading to Northeast marina this weekend for first walleye trip this year. Has anyone fished out of here this year? I will give fishing report when we return Monday.

Last year the best fishing was out the marina to the west in about 48'. Not too far west, maybe couple miles maybe. Tons of small ones. Good luck, let us know how you do.

Well guys had to cancel trip last weekend due to 3' to 5' waves. Going to try again this weekend. We had good luck last year out of Northeast marina. We caught our limit every trip. We normally have two to three guys per boat and two boats. Let you all know if the weather lets us fish and how we do.

We'll be heading up on Thursday after work. Going out of Walnut & going to fish for what ever is HOPEFULLY biting. Walleye, Smallies or Perch. Will post on our results.

    To all be safe!

Here's the weekend report out of North East marina. Friday afternoon we fished for about 2.5 hours. We landed 5 Walleyes. The first one was a 7 pounder. Saturday 2 mad limit. The smallest Walleye was 17". Most fish was between 19" and 23". Two biggest fish were 7 Lb around 27". Trolled straight out of marina and to the west. 48' to 58' of water. Down riggers and Dipsys all fish were caught 8' to 10' off the bottom. Worm harnest best color was black chrome with purple. Also got them on silver. Talked to many other fisherman most caught there limits Saturday. Heard a few guys got some huge Catfish wile trolling. Seen a picture of one that had to be 30" monster. Looks like its going to be a great year for Walleye. Good luck to all and safe boating.

We went up Thursday evening & fished Friday & Saturday. Fished out of Walnut both days. Went NW & set up in 45' of water around Elk creek trolling harnesses & sticks. Stayed in 40 to 55 fow. Caught our 2 man limit by 12:30. Most were caught on harnesses (black & purple). But did get a few on sticks as well (purple & chartreuse reef runners). Saturday was mostly the same program of lures & location. But it took a little longer to get our 2 man limit. We were done by 2:00. Both days the fish ran around 18 to 23". Had a few smaller fish right around 15-17" that were tossed back for another day. Quite a few farm animals around. Some white bass as well.

Not a good fishing trip 06/22 - 06/24. Went out of North East Marina over the weekend fished two days with only two Walleyes caught. We noticed the lake temp was ten degrees colder than two weeks ago. Talked to a few charter captains that cancelled trips over the weekend. I was tolled that the lake turned over Thursday in that area. In about 15 hours of trolling we had only marked about 15 fish. Captains said next weekend fishing will be bake to normal and will be great. Fish from west should be moving in.

Went out of North East Marina 7/13 - 7-15. Had two man limit every day in 3 hours. We threw back anything less than 18". Fish were in 50' to 110' we fished 30' to 40' down. We only ran four rods all with Dipsys and worm harnest. All colors worked. Single spinner firetiger and Ultra violet yellow worked best. We only caught one short at 14.5". Threw back 10 to 15 fish 15" to 17" every day. Nothing over 24" caught. All good eater sizes. No junk fish caught any of the three days. Saw a few guys caught steelheads. Fished straight out of marina down to W's. Fish every place.
