I made a cylinder of Styrofoam that is 6 inches in diameter and 15 inches long that I use to wrap my leaders so there are no kinks or folds to effect memory. If there is any sign of abrasion or wear after use it is not wrapped on the cylinder.

Couple thoughts, many of which echo what has already been said, since I had 2 breakoffs this weekend on braid dipseys without snubbers, using 12lb mono leader.
I keep the release tension set pretty light so trash fish trip it. The first breakoff happened when the netman hit the fish in the face, so a big cause, the leader was only a couple weeks old. Tied a new one with 12lb mono and the next day it broke as soon as the fish struck (but had caught a few in between). Put my snubbers back on after that.
So severeral things you can watch:
Release tension
wear and tear on the leader, or abrasions
watch the drag setting on your reel, I probably had mine to tight, i think this is key when using braid.
leader storage, I wrap mine on a cylinder, otherwise you get kinks which = weak spots
Thanks Steeleye,
We have made many changes since the breakoffs, added snubbers, replaced leaders with #20 vs #15. Last and final thing I need to get done is storage of leaders, I too want to move to cylinder style storage.
We had a few heavy hitters since the switch and so far (knock on wood) no breaks.
