Default 30ft Sportcraft Great Lakes Special Hardtop

I am thinking of buying a 30ft Sportcraft with no trailer and am wondering if anyone could tell me the weight of this boat. I am trying to see if the trailer I have will be big enough to haul it. Any info would be great thanks

This is the same boat I have. I am not 100% sure on this but from what I have found online it should be around 8000# dry.

Thanks, my trailer is rated for 8500lb so that will be close. I mainly need it for the ride to my dock and then for storage in winter. Hopefully it will work untill I can find a heavier one.

    Default trailer

I believe I saw a trailer on Craigslist/sandusky- under BOATS, for only $2500 that would carry that boat. May check into it, its been a few days or so....maybe sold though.

Well, I purchased the boat today. It can stay at the marina and they will launch it for me and I can drive it to my dock. So no need for a trailer. I cant wait to get it out.

Congrads on new toy. I did same when I purchased mine 3 years ago. Then spent first summer looking for storage trailer for it.

Thanks, I cant wait to get it out on the lake and test it out. The boat is in excellent condition with new composite stringers new bulkhead, nibral prop, drop curtain and mooring cover. Hopefully it lasts me a long time.

    Default boat wt

30 Sportcrafts average a little over 8000 lb. Depends on the gear installed, fuel load, the engine or engines etc. If you are only using as a storage type trailer as long as the axle load and tire ratings are high enough, it may be fine. If you would look around at some boat storage lots now you would find that most old storage trailers are not much but only serve one purpose. The lot trailers are not meant for highway travel.
