Was out for about 4 hours on Friday. Started out at the kidney (NW Reef). Trolled stinger spoons and crawler harnesses 50 - 65 back with Tru-Trip 40's. Decent marks but no hungry eyes. Headed east and worked the area north of North Bass island between the red and green cans. Once we got in the shallower water (25-27 ft) by the green can, we found an active school. We worked that area for about 3 hrs and managed to pull about 22 eyes. The only problem was, this was a very small school of fish. Lots of throw backs. We were only able to keep 6. We also had several Cigars, not included in the 22 count. Probably about 10 of the Cigars. 50 back on Monkey Puke stinger spoon seemed to produce the best. Lots of algae out there. I intentionally went to NW Reef because Thursday nights satellite image looked like this was the only place with clean water. Surprisingly, we caught none in the clean water and all were caught where there was noticeable algae in the water.
