    Smile a perch helpfull suggestion

pleiler try this go to single hook, one chartuse bead, eighteen
inch lead, light as possible sinker, lay it in the mud, and lift slowly, it will increase your perch catch, size and amounts,
its like a lindy rig. WAYNE REEL SPORT CHARTERS 419 265 2736

    Wayne,

Sorry for the dumb question , but the 18inch leader is attached to the weight, and the bead is above the hook. Any leader on the hook, or do you tie it right to the line.

    Smile perch rig

the rig I make is simple, main line then swivel, attach sinker,
off swivel run 12 to 18 inch line with one bead and a red hook.
If you are after bigger perch or they are finky you can make the
sinker a slider, big perch will drop anything that they feel a resiance to, that why longer lead they can swim around with it
and its natural, small chartuse or deep red bead works as a
attractor, plus this rig stay longer in the mud in rougher waters,
junk fish don't bother this rig as much as others. Troy I;m
finishing my kitchen on sat. mike may have one opening in the moring and a coupke in the afternoon trip, boat needs a good washing.

So you basically attach the sinker to the swivel then, 12 to 18 inch of line also to the swivel with a red hook and a bead. The whole rig is laying in the mud. That is very interesting. I am going to give that a try here shortly when i get out. thank you for the information, it is nice when others share what they have learned. It is always good to learn something new. I keep trying to hook up with you guys but it never seems to work out. i am availiable sept 2 if you guys decide to run a trip.

Do you see any difference in a bell versus an inline or pencil sinker?

    Smile perch rig

first of all you may have a little time getting use to it, I LAY IT IN THE MUD WITH 12 TO 24 INCH OF SLACK LINE, DEPENDING ON WAVE ACTION I use flat sinker wieght depends on wave action and how finky perch are, finky and flat as light as split shots, wave higher 1 to 2 oz. you have to play with it for a while, just lift rod real slowly and feel the wiegh and reel in, another version is to run it like a three way like you use for trolling, a third version we use is same rig with a tiny willow blade on it. Just play with it and see what works for you.
