Saturday night was the first trip of the year. Never EVER had to wait that long in 20 years.
Smiles last night for everyone in the boat.
2 hrs and done.
Purple or Blue hair jigs. 1/2 to 3/4 with Char tail and mylar fleck. Stingers were not required.
The largest jacks I have taken in 10 years on average.
all except for 1 at 18 were 23 to 25 inches.
The water was warm at the surface at about 54 degrees.
Humps must be targeted directly and without error. Walleye were holding very tight to table tops and humps.
Water was muddy still. so they would not chase.
Many White Perch were in the area feedng.
All jacks were full of sperm. The spawn is still at peak due to the cold weather delay. I saw charters and outher boats out looking near the Toledo harbor light. I started there... Took 2 passes and left to the shallows near Turtle. Hope this helps!
