Friday 4-1 Fishing Report

Got to Catabwa SP ramp at 7:30am only to find solid 4's rolling in. A little too big for my liking in a 19' Lund Grand Sport, so we decided to wait and see what the wx did over the next hour. Talked to a couple of guys that had just came in after being out only half an hour and they classified it as 'ugly' out by F can. Decided we would make a move further west and hope waves were better so we headed to Wild Wings to launch. 3 footers on that side but much better. Finally got on the water at 10:30 and had our 2 man limit by 2:40.
drift speed was perfect at .8 so we decided to flat line custom purple/pink stripe ddhj's 40 back while we jigged. got 3 within 20 min on the flatlines. 2 5pounders and a 6 lb. Picked up a total of 6 on the flatlines and only 3 jigging. (threw 1 back that had some ugly growths on it). location - 2 miles straight north out of wild wings 14-17 fow. Best jig color blue/white 3/4 oz.

Tried for a couple hours Sat morning but decided to play it safe and get off the water before the big blow moved in. Fun day Friday since we didnt think we would even get on the water. Long drive from Indy but worth it.

Good job on the flatlines, thinking outside the box usually has its rewards, glad you made it out, gonna be a tough week fishin for sure weather wise, Mike
