charter canceled

I had a charter for sat the 14th. my charter captain blew his motor last weekend so he canceled my trip. I am thinking of bringing my pro deep v 16 with a 40 horse motor to the lake sat/sun to fish for perch out by Kelly Island. Any suggestions,comments or advise would be greatly appreciated.I am mostly concerned about the weather and waves being this is a smaller boat.

noaas only calling for 1 -2 footers on sat. but 4-6 footers on sun the last i checked. ive seen a lot of bass boats out there but they deffinetly pic the days. its also a ne wind and just because they call for 1-2 dont mean you wont get 3-4 and thats a long hard trip in and out and poss. dangerous. just my opion but 16 is maybe a little to small for this time of year but only you know your limitations. if you have been caught in a storm out there you would know what i mean. you deffinetly have to respect erie.

Thanks Bad Karma I have got the fishing bug bad. All the lakes,ponds and river is out flooded here around home the lake was my last resort.
