    Default Where to launch?

Making a trip up to fish Thursay.. I only fished western basin once so I have no clue where to go.. I know mud is an issue right now so where would one recommend I launch out of that would be convenient to where fish are being caught? Last year we just followed the pack of boats, monkey see monkey do.

Right now I say the Catawba county ramp. It's real nice not a lot of traffic and puts you in the south passage and quick trip to kelleys

There are several ramps in that area, most are private - marina's with ramps open to the public. You'll have to check them to see if they are open yet, but they should be. Most charge a fee, $5 -$10.

Check this map to see some of them, with contact info and pictures: http://www.ilakeerie.com/launch_ramps.asp

Turtle creek is just west of wild wings, which is just west of Davis Beese. As stated we were fishing 9 to 13 ft. I tried trolling today with no luch, but talked to a guy who went on in front of WW again and took about 2 hrs for limits.
