Two of us headed out of Sterling this morning to try and find some walleye. Trolled from Fermi toward the Banana dike in 18 to 20 FOW, not a single fish. Decided to try and salvage the day and go perchin. Started in front of Fermi in 20 FOW with good marks just to find we had found a school of large Silver Bass. After 10 minutes of that we decided to move to 25 FOW off of Stoney Point. Once again not a single fish.
At 1:30 we dropped anchor in 27 FOW water straight out from the beach at Sterling. Put 22 fish in the cooler in 30 minutes and threw a fair amount of smalls back. Fished until 4 O'clock and ended with 51 in the box. Sure was a nice day to be on the lake. Hopefully we can get a few more this year.
