    Default Sounder Problem

I have a new Lowrance Elite 7 HDI this season. The broad ban sounder will not reed fish or baitfish beyond a fast idle, it reads depth, but screen gets grainy past idle and must loose sensitivity. I have isolated the wiring for the most part and gets it power from extra battery, not the primary that anything engine or assecories are powered from. Ferrite choke filter also installed or check that, 2 installed. Transducer placed In proper area according to manual and common sense. Any feed back?

Almost sounds like your getting hull interference at anything above idle. You may have to move the transducer

Done the adjust up-down and tip it down a little bit thing. Transducer is located between the two hull ridges. If I move down and center between the next two, I would be pretty close 9" from center back edge of lower unit. Does Rotating circumference of prop have any effect on them when you get to close? My hull is riveted aluminum and lots of them as well.

My very next question was gonna be is your boat aluminum riveted. The rivets trap air behind them and then release as you move through the water. The bubbles cause the interference. Try and place the transducer between the rows of rivets.

Aft, at the end of the hull where it meet transom, is all connected with many rivets. Each internal rib and bulkhead is riveted. There ain't no avoiding them dang things. Sugar

Lower the ducer to just over 3/4 of the ducer is under the hull . My uncle had the same issue. That was the fix. My advice also is go to the p66 made by airmar. That would eliminate any ducer issues. That 83/200 on the elite 7 is JUNK and only 250 watts the p66 is 50/200 and 600 watts.
